As an art craftsman, I offer harpsichord players a rigorous selection of individual strings. Whether you need to replace a broken string, restock your emergency kit, or carry out a full restringing of your instrument (french, flemish, italian harpsichord or spinet), I provide the right material suited to your scaling design.
Looped strings are prepared to order, carefully packaged and labeled, ready to be installed and shipped throughout France and Europe.

As a harpsichord maker, I carry out major restoration work and complex maintenance directly at my workshop located in Montpon-Ménestérol 24700. For on-site services, I regularly intervene within a local radius around Montpon.
To optimize travel costs, I also organize scheduled group service tours in my three key sectors: around Pau and Oloron (Béarn 64), as well as around Bellême (Orne 61) and Le Mans (Sarthe 72).

As an art craftsman, the quality of materials is my priority. This is why I use Malcolm Rose metals: their reputation is well established. I stock the main Malcolm Rose metals used in harpsichord making to ensure tonal accuracy and tension stability:
Soft iron, steel: for the treble, offering optimal brightness and clarity. Density 7,769 kg/m³.
Yellow brass and red brass: ideal for the mid-range and bass, providing warmth and depth of sound. Density 8,536 kg/m³ and 8,769 kg/m³.
Hand-twisted looping service :
String looping is a delicate process. I provide handmade looped strings, ready to be installed.
A wide range of gauges from 0.19mm to 0.80mm to scrupulously respect your instrument's scaling design.
- Available diameters for soft iron: 0.19mm, 0.21mm, 0.23mm, 0.25mm, 0.27mm, 0.30mm, 0.33mm, 0.36mm, 0.40mm, 0.44mm.
- Available diameters for yellow brass: 0.19mm, 0.21mm, 0.23mm, 0.25mm, 0.27mm, 0.30mm, 0,33mm, 0.36mm, 0.40mm, 0.44mm, 0.48mm, 0.52mm, 0.56mm, 0.60mm, 0.65mm.

Pricing and ordering :
Looped soft iron or steel string : 7€ per unit.
Looped brass string (yellow or red) : 8€ per unit.
Packaging and shipping to France : 10€ for small parcels (registered mail or tracked delivery with signature).
